Frequently Asked Questions

How long will therapy last?

The length of therapy differs widely, depending on the issues you are looking to address. Therapy can be short term or long term. We will assess your need during our consultation call.

What is therapy like?

Therapy is a collaborative relationship between the therapist and the client. We often start by checking in on how you have been doing since our last appointment, address your goals, explore skills for use in your day to day life, and reflect on your progress. During our first appointment we will identify the goals you have for your time in therapy and that will act as a map for our work together.

Do you accept insurance?

I accept BCBS in Rhode Island therapy clients only. For all other clients, I provide documentation for out of network psychotherapy reimbursement. You can check with your insurance provider regarding your specific out of network reimbursement benefits. Many people see 50-90% of their session fee reimbursed. Coaching and group work are not reimbursable by insurance.

How much does therapy cost?

Individual 50 minute therapy sessions are $200.

Coaching sessions are based on package pricing that we discuss during our consult call.

Group therapy sessions are $360 for 6 sessions.

Do you prescribe medication?

I am not a prescribing provider. I can provide referrals to prescribers if that is deemed appropriate during our work together.

Is therapy confidential?

Yes! Therapy is a confidential space to explore anything that concerns you in your past or present. There are a few exceptions to confidentiality that we can explore in our consult call. These primarily include the threat to harm oneself or another, suspected abuse of a minor or elderly adult, and the therapist being subpoenaed by a court order.

How often are sessions?

Therapy sessions are generally weekly or every two weeks. As our work progresses, there are options to reduce frequency as needed. Coaching and group therapy frequencies vary.

Do you provide telehealth or in person therapy?

I provide both! I have an office in East Providence, Rhode Island, where I see clients in person. I also have a HIPPA secure electronic platform that I use to meet with folks via video appointments if that is preferred or if you are not local to Rhode Island.
